In his moonlight bedroom Ironhorse awoke screaming in sweat drenched
terror from
another horrifying nightmare. Jumping out of bed to pace
the length of the room
several times until his heart began to calm.
Knowing that he wouldn't be able
to return to sleep this night he moved to the chair by the window
to sit down and try to calm
down from the terror. Looking out across the Cottage grounds
he found his mind going over the
vivid details of his nightmare. Macabre images fill up
his thoughts with terror, pain, death and
lost chances. Nearby, a swan cries out to it's mate in
the darkness startling him out of his
deliberation of the dream. Obviously, his fears of telling
Harrison how he feels about him is
what is causing these tormenting dreams of his loves brutal
death. Past relationships never have
worked out for him before due to his career choices as well as
his poor choice in partners.
Quietly, he begins to cry as the images of past failures intermix
with the horrifying images from
his nightmare sending his emotions into a spiral of despair.
Rationality dwindles
within his conscience as the doubt and desire consumes him.
Savage rage rebukes
his lack of courage to ask the one he loves forthright if the
sentiment is returned or not. Tactical
planning has always been his forte in the field and in his life.
Until now he had always depended
on these to get through every challenge that life sent his way.
Victory or death has been the
motto of many a military engagement, but in matters of the heart it
may fail. Wide awake, he
attempts to staunch the tears of grief and loss that the dreams caused.
Xenomorphic aliens run
rampant within his subconscious mind tormenting him nightly in dreams
with the deaths of
those he loves. Yesterday, he remembered watching Harrison
in the gym as he gracefully went
through his yoga and he couldn't help thinking how that flexibility
would translate in bed. Zero
choices, it seems and yet there may be may depending on one answer
to one question. At least if
he asks Harrison he would know one way or the other the answer.
Burying his true feelings is
probably what caused his nightmares in the first place. Consequently
by admitting them to his
love, Harrison maybe it will bring some peace of mind.
Determination fills the shattered man
mind and body as the dawn star begins to dim in the sky. Everyone
is still asleep as the morning
light sweeps across the sky the first light of the day highlighting
the planes of the lone watcher.
Forcing himself to rise up out of the chair and get ready to face another
day Ironhorse heads to
the bathroom to shower. Gently releasing his fear, pain, and
terror of the dream he enters the new
day determined to confront his friend and love with his feelings.
Harrison Blackwood awoke
screaming on the floor of his room drenched in fear and terror from
another horrifying nightmare
in the steadily lighting room as the sun rose.
The End.
Anyone else want to try the challenge be my guest I thought that
it was a little
weird doing this if not somewhat disjointed.
